My character is basically a gameshow host. I am very smiley, in a not-quite-but-sort-of-like-First-Night way. I gesticulate frequently and make patronizingly affable comments whenever I am given the chance. I desperately want everyone to love me, and I think that I am doing a great job at it.

My character is pretty destructive but i dont carry the same one through for the whole performance. I find that my true character is the ‘dark horse’ who appears pretty gormless in most scenes. I then become the act of extreme destruction on becoming wasted and extremely frustrated and a little cuckoo at the end.(mad).

Monday 3ed Dec 2-5pm: Run through the show whit costumes, music, props, etc. Work on individual scenes that need to be worked on. Make the transactions between the scenes clear and time the sections.

Wednesday 5th Dec 4-6pm (Rehearsal room B): Run though the show, make it perfect.

Friday 7th Dec 2-5pm (Rehearsal room B): Run through the show again. Final touch.

Monday 10th Dec, 2pm: Performance Boilerhouse.

As i’m a ‘supporting actor’, i come in and out of the performance but it’s definately important to keep a consistancy with our characters too. I think, because Marion and I seem to be totally insensitive to the chaos around us in the club scene, and add to it by purposefully getting Meals drunk, i should be quite careless and relaxed throughout the show, as though i’m not fussed whether we do entertain the audience or not. (i can’t get this off ‘bold’ for some reason!)

Also, i interpret Megan’s speech into a little bit of sign language at the end, so maybe I should carry on the idea that Sophie had when she signed whilst eating/drinking?

As i am ‘a slag’ in the club scene, I am going to continue this character throughout the performance, but in a more subtle, toned down manner. My motive in the club scene is to pull and I am prepared to make a fool of myself in order to do so, including drenching myself in water (I am very drunk in the scene)! For the rest of the show I am going to be slightly flirtatious, pouting my lips as a general facial expression and doing a lot of ‘fake smiling’, as though I am (badly) trying to impress people all the time.

Costume Ideas.

Hey,

Costume is still very open but here is an idea we have going at the moment, it’s still a little vague in places but let us know what you think and we will go from there.

Megan: formal wear /suit /shirt, hair scraped back – to show detached nature, hair can be pulled down during club scene.

Georgie: flowing white(?) dress with veil to start – innocence, gains sympathy to make some lines more effective ie “my dad…”.

Rachael: tight black trousers, strappy top, possible emphasis on clevage for club scene.

Meals: jeans, strap top with buttoned shirt to strip.

Sophie A: jeans and a ‘good’ hoodie, dark colours.

Noah: smartish jeans, white t-shirt and shirt.

Chris: dark jeans with a black t-shirt.

This is one option, and should be largely black or white where possible, because otherwise the smarter people will look odd my comparison and the it will step away from a over all theme like Forced Entertainment usually have. And of course other actors should dress similarly but we didn’t talk you through much as you don’t have club ‘characters’ or demands such as stripping, plus we were busy debating others – sorry!

Another option is basically ‘Saturday Night Clothes’ but as your character would (although that was sort of where the above came from). The issue we have with this is that it could be quite ‘mish-mashed’ and therefore might not look as effective. Also from what i remember Forced Entertainment are either extreme, uniform or very casual.
